Robin Hood is a 2018 If you like historical adventure movies, you’re sure to know what the new Robin Hood movie will look like, a mythical character who fell in love with everyone, who stole from the rich to give to the poor. Who does not know the story? The new film directed by Otto Bathurst will hit theaters in November. It will be starred by Taron Egerton and will tell the story of a warrior of the Crusades, who rebels with a group of bandits to fight against the corruption of the English crown.

The same story but with a very different touch. His character, comes more revolutionary if possible, and will show a more current Robin Hood in search of freedom and truth. Bows, arrows and a renewed version starring Taron Egerton, who will get into the role of the famous archer. The first film “Robin Hood, the prince of thieves” of 1991 starring Kevin Costner, is my favorite. It had good reviews and good box office (230 million dollars worldwide), although Costner was criticized for his English accent in the film. His soundtrack was one of the best sold. His song “Everything I do, I do it for you” by Bryan Adams remained at number 1 on lists for several consecutive weeks. I leave you with the video clip. A kiss from Ruth Medina.

Birth of a legend. Following King Richard’s death in France, archer Robin Longstride, along with Will Scarlett, Alan-a-Dale and Little John, returns to England. They encounter the dying Robert of Locksley, whose party was ambushed by treacherous Godfrey, who hopes to facilitate a French invasion of England. Robin promises the dying knight he will return his sword to his father Walter in Nottingham. Here Walter encourages him to impersonate the dead man to prevent his land being confiscated by the crown, and he finds himself with Marian, a ready-made wife. Hoping to stir baronial opposition to weak King John and allow an easy French take-over, Godfrey worms his way into the king’s service as Earl Marshal of England and brutally invades towns under the pretext of collecting Royal taxes. Robin Hood is back with his gang of outlaws to do battle with the dark forces of the Sheriff of Nottingham, who has recently murdered Robin Hood’s father and stolen his family land in lieu of “back taxes”. Robin and friends are forced into Sherwood forest and a life of poverty. Robin Hood’s skill with a bow and sword allow them to raid the Sheriff’s castle whenever needed. Not content with this life of crime, Robin Hood pleads with his friends to join him and overthrow the Sheriff once and for all. However, the Sheriff has plans of his own for Robin. In a stunning move, the Sheriff and his henchmen kidnap Lady Marian and hold her prisoner. In one last and desperate battle Robin Hood leads an assault upon Nottingham Castle to rescue his love, and bring balance back to England. Will the King return in time?

Filming and editing on this picture took three years. Shot and edited entirely on 16mm film. This movie premiered in 1994 at the Princess Theater in Decatur, Alabama. The writer and director was 15 years old and still in middle school.
